1. Lumecca IPL Therapy

Don't you want to say "I woke up like this" again? It doesn't get much hotter than this celeb-fave laser treatment. Lumecca IPL by InMode is our choice to provide a safe, non-surgical treatment using the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) device to treat common skin blemishes and irregularities.

By selectively targeting affected areas, the Lumecca IPL system can treat skin pigmentation, vascular lesions, skin texture irregularities, and sun damage. At the same time, your body will begin to regenerate priceless collagen and plump your skin and eliminate some fine lines for a youthful, fresh appearance.

Bring on the Beauty.

Lumecca IPL is an ideal treatment for skin care concerns ranging from redness, light acne scars and rosacea, to broken capillaries and hyper pigmentation. It involves a non-ablative laser that has been carefully calibrated to seek out specific pigments in the skin – redness, darker discolored patches or dark spots from acne scarring. This advanced laser skin resurfacing treatment can:

  • Repair small blood vessels
  • Eradicate sun spots or skin irregularities
  • Combat acne and eliminate large pores
  • Treat rosacea or redness in the skin
  • Stimulate collagen and improve skin texture

What Sets Lumecca Apart:

Lumecca intense pulsed light (IPL) delivers up to 3X more energy in the 500-600 nm range to improve efficacy for vascular and pigmented lesions. This means that our clinicians can safely treat a variety of lesions with fewer sessions, saving you time and money.

  • High efficiency of treatment due to high peak power and optimized output.
  • Complete photo rejuvenation in 1 or 2 treatments for most patients versus 4-6 treatments with standard IPL’s.
  • Reduces treatment time thanks to large spot size and high pulse repetition rate.
  • Strong sapphire cooling tip results in higher treatment comfort level.

Post-Treatment Notes:

After treatment, redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal. These usually subside within an hour or two. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone.

After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days. If for whatever reason you have any concerns, please reach out at any time.

Safety First:

With a 100% "Worth It" Rating on, Lumecca stands apart from other IPL therapies. Lumecca IPL is cleared for use on skin types I - IV and has been utilized by clinicians to treat thousands of people in the U.S. alone. Lumecca is optimized for light to dark skin tones, thus making IPL therapies available to a larger audience than ever before.

Lumecca side effects are rare, with most skin reactions subsiding within a few hours after treatment.

Radio-frequency travels via electrodes to deliver a non-invasive and pain-free treatment. Forma uses radiofrequency energy with a thermal temperature sensor to heat skin in real-time to treat and improve skin and tissue to a more youthful appearance. Forma effectively treats the forehead, upper and lower eyelids, nasolabial folds, jowls and neck.

What Sets Forma Apart:

Forma is great for everyone. It provides an immediate result, as well as a more drastic one after a series of treatments. This type of treatment is perfect for those who want to age on their own terms, but avoid more invasive surgical procedures.

Post-Treatment Notes:

Your skin may turn red after the procedure as reaction to the heat, but most people see this subside within an hour. Due to the fact that it's extremely noninvasive, there is essentially no downtime.

Safety First:

Forma is safe for all skin types. Forma has a special thermal temperature sensor built into the handpiece allowing clinicians to acquire skin temperature in real-time. It features a “cut off temperature” feature that reduces RF energy automatically when the handpiece senses that the required skin temperature has been reached. Forma offers unprecedented safety of RF delivery. However, you should always discuss your skin concerns with your treatment provider.

Prior to their blepharoplasty in Los Angeles, The patient is instructed to apply cold compresses to the eyes for 48 hours. For 1 week, patients are instructed to maintain a semi-upright position when sleeping or resting. An antibiotic-steroid ophthalmic drop is used for 5 days since chemosis in not uncommon. Artificial tears are used frequently throughout the day for 5 days. A steroid dose pack is prescribed as needed.

A cursory eye exam checking for diplopia, gross visual acuity, edema and chemosis is performed on the first post-operative day. On day 5, the polypropylene suture is removed and the repositioned fat is checked for symmetry. The patients may resume full activities after 3 weeks.

The complications from fat repositioning are generally the same for a transconjunctival blepharoplasty except that the potential risk for diplopia due to injury of the inferior oblique muscle, fat granulomas, prolonged edema and soft tissue irregularities are higher. Diplopia is usually transient due to edema, while persistent diplopia will need evaluation by our ophthalmology colleagues.

Although rare, a fat granuloma may be treated conservatively with intralesional steroids, or if needed, more aggressively with local excision. Prolonged edema (persistent for more than 6 weeks) may be treated with oral steroids and ultrasound.

Since January 2001, we have performed fat repositioning procedures in more than 100 patients with no visible fat reabsorption. This procedure has the advantage of addressing the herniated fat while preventing lower eyelid hollowness and/or improving the tear-trough deformity.

Fat repositioning may be combined with one or more of the following procedures:

  • Endoscopic subperiosteal midface lift
  • Transcutaneous skin pinch
  • Transconjunctival orbicularis oculi excision

As with any new procedure, thorough knowledge of the current literature and anatomy and observation of this procedure by an experienced surgeon should prelude your attempt in lower eyelid transconjunctival fat repositioning.
